Mission
St. Raphael the Archangel School guides its students as they form their knowledge of the Catholic faith and their love for Jesus Christ, in an environment that promotes compassionate hearts through habits of personal prayer, reflection, and community service. Our school and parish community endeavors to develop each student’s character by modeling and practicing the cardinal virtues of prudence, justice, fortitude, and temperance. We nurture our student’s perseverance, sense of gratitude, leadership, and ability to make informed moral choices. We utilize a rigorous, measurable academic program that develops critical thinking skills, promotes imagination, celebrates individual gifts and talents, and fosters a life-long love for learning.
Purpose
St. Raphael the Archangel students are Formed in Faith and grow in their love for Jesus through the attendance of daily Mass (Monday-Thursday), weekly family group prayer services, monthly Adoration and Benediction, enriching classroom instruction, and participating in daily prayer such as the Angelus. Our Second Graders receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion and our Seventh Grades receive the Holy Spirit through the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Quality
St. Raphael the Archangel creates an environment that cultivates students as life-long learners through innovative curriculum and creative instruction. Our school community parents, teachers and students collaborate to support individual growth. We incorporate STREAM-Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics into the curriculum. This design and creativity based approach is integrated into lessons throughout Pre-K to Eighth Grade. Best practices in curriculum standards promote our classroom instruction and assessments.
Dynamic Community
Students from preschool through eighth grade interact through family groups, building life-long friendships and a strong sense of belonging. Technology, such as Smart Boards, iPads/Chromebooks, and online programs, is applied in all grades as a tool to enhance and improve learning. St. Raphael the Archangel community provides a wide variety of extracurricular and athletic activities. Among these options are Scouting, Robotics, Karate, Small group band, Choir, Dance, and Chess.
